136. If an officer retires during his leave of absence without having previously given notice of his desire to do so, the date at which his half salary is to cease must be determined according to the circumstances of the case

I beg respectfully to state in reference to Your Excellency's minute, that I purpose leaving for Singapore on the 1st proximo, to take up a post offered to me as I gave my final reply to an application I made for employment in Perak under the belief, that as regards leave of absence, the rules of the service must be adhered to "as expressed in G.O. 601/1888"
By the rules of the Service I am lawfully entitled to the leave I have done myself the honor to apply for upon relinquishing my appointment.
